View photos of Boko Haram Jailbreak At SSS HQ In Abuja, During And After The Attack

photoPandemonium broke out early hours Sunday when Boko Haram militants detained at the State Security Services facility in Abuja took over the complex for over six hours after disarming SSS agents guarding the facility.
It was gathered that the audacious action of the detainees led to  prolonged negotiations that later resulted to shootings at the complex for over 4 hours, an SSS sources told newsmen.
The gunfight at the complex known as “Yellow House” caused panic in Abuja as the complex sits close to the Presidential Villa and one of the most fortified area in the national capital.

98 people killed in Borno, Benue and Plateau during violent weekend.

At least 98 died over the weekend, in separate incidents in the troubled Benue, Borno and Plateau States.
One of the bloodiest clashes between Tiv youths and suspected Fulani mercenaries erupted at Gbajimba, the headquarters of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, in the afternoon of March 23, 2014, Sunday. They resulted in the death of at least 55 people.
The death toll of market bombing in Ngurosoye village of Bama council area of Borno State has increased to 35 persons. The Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) have been allegedly planted by Boko Haram members at a market square.
The deaths were recorded on a day the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Kenneth Minimah, charged officers and soldiers involved in the ongoing counter terrorist operations in the North-East to ensure that the terrorists no longer have any opportunity to perpetrate atrocities.
In a parallel development, at least eight people have been killed in Wase local government area of Plateau State when a group of cattle thieves attempted to snatch cattle two kilometres away from Wase town.

HORROR In Oyo State: Decomposed Bodies, Human Bones, Kidnapped Persons Discovered In Ibadan "Dungeon Of Death"

A dungeon where scores of kidnapped people had been tortured and died was discovered at the Soka area, a satellite community of Ibadan, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway of Oyo State.
According to sources, human skulls, decomposed bodies and various body parts were seen being evacuated from the dungeon.
Littered all over the grounds were identity cards (apparently belonging to the victims), as well as discarded clothes and shoes.
About six guns and several cutlasses were also recovered from the house beside it said to belong to Black Horse Plastic factory.

An armed robbery suspect, Mr Karen Oguntuase has been arrested by the Lagos state police.
He was arrested in a popular hotel in Ajangbadi area of Lagos following a tip-off.
24-year-old Mr Oguntuase, a 300 level student of Department of Mechanical Engineering in the university said he went into full time armed robbery four years ago and has been involved in some banks and major robberies in Lagos which he claimed had been successful until he was nabbed.
He explained that his friends dragged him into robbery. They revealed their secret to him and after the revelation they initiated him so that he could not back out or it will cost him his life.

Oh, NO! Miley Cyrus Tour Bus Caught Fire

ABC News reports that one of the tour buses of the famous American singer Miley Cyrus caught fire and started burning early Tuesday morning while en route to the singer’s next tour stop in New Orleans.

Miley's younger sister took to Twitter to say that no one suffered in the incident. 
The young singer's fans were seriously shocked when earlier Noah had tweeted “Cyrus bus down!!!!” and posted a video of the bus burning.
It seems that Miley herself was not on the bus when the fire started, as she had been spotted some hours earlier eating donuts at one of the city’s trendy spots, District Donuts.

Kanye West gets two years probation for assault

WestRapper Kanye West has pleaded no contest and been sentenced to two years probation for assaulting a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport.
He must also attend 24 anger management sessions and complete 250 hours of community service for the misdemeanor battery last July.
Paparazzo Daniel Ramos accuses the rapper of punching him and grabbing his camera in an unprovoked attack.
The 36-year-old rapper maintains his innocence.
The plea cannot be used against him in a civil lawsuit brought against him by Ramos, reports the Associated Press news agency.

A bus loaded with cartons of 30,000 pieces of live cartridges but concealed with tubers of yam and bags of yam flour was on Tuesday, March 10 been seized by the Nigeria Customs Service.

But the customs officials working along Saki-Ago Are, led by Superintendent of Customs A. Okoi, proved that they were well-trained, as their eagle eyes caught the conveyer of the unwholesome products while the men alleged to be the owners fled on sighting the customs officials.
Speaking during a press briefing, the Area Controller, Mr Richard Oteri, said that the driver of the bus with registration number KW 286 SHH was intercepted in the early hours of Monday, March 10 in which the live cartridges were discovered. The driver, Adegoke Abdulrahman, was also arrested.

Drogba’s Galatasaray contract expires at the end of the season and he already has offers to stay at the Turkish club or move to Major League Soccer in America. 
Mourinho met Drogba before this season and discussed the idea of a playing return to Chelsea, with a view to starting a coaching career. A move that did not materialise and it remains to be seen if the Chelsea board would sanction a Drogba playing return at the end of this campaign.

BOKO HARAM STRIKES AGAIN: Three Large Explosions Rock Maiduguri

The city of Maiduguri in Borno state state has just experienced three large explosions suspected to be a major bomb attack.
According to sources, the three explosions were heard across the city.
It was learnt that fighters from the Islamist sect Boko Haram are attempting to bomb and take over a major military base known as "Giwa barracks" in Maiduguri.
The attackers, shooting sporadically at anything in sight, arrived at about 7:20 a.m. Friday through an area called Fori, near the Army’s main base called Giwa Barracks.

The survivors of the yesterday's tragic boat accident in Festac, Lagos, having claimed 13 lives, recounted how they managed to stay alive and how other passengers died in the ill-fated canoe.

Speaking with journalists, one of the survivors, Joseph Essien, said but the human error the mishap could have been escaped.
"If the passengers had taken the boat boy’s warning, maybe the tragedy would not have occurred."
Explaining how how it all happened Joseph added that the state of the canal, which is deep and swampy, also became one of the reasons why the boat capsized. 
That very day after completing their work at the site they left for home. At the river bank, they met the ill-fated canoe waiting for passengers. Instead of entering, the men allowed those who came after them to board the canoe.

Missing plane mystery deepens

More than four days since Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared over Southeast Asia, Malaysian officials not only don’t know what happened to the plane, they don’t seem sure where to look.
The lack of direction prompted Vietnam to say Wednesday that it’s pulling back on its search efforts until Malaysian authorities come up with better information on where to look.
“We have scaled down the searches for today and are still waiting for the response from Malaysian authorities,” Phan Quy Tieu, Vietnam’s vice minister of transportation, told reporters.
He described as “insufficient” the information provided so far on the airline, which vanished early Saturday over Southeast Asia with 239 people on board.

Eagles $10,000 bonuses dependent on approval

Adjusting the figures or going with it will depend on what is finally approved for their proposed budget.
The General Secretary of the NFF Mr. Musa Amadu made the clarification when he spoke with The PUNCH on Tuesday.
He said, “We cannot say for now if we are going on or even going back to $5,000 per game. We have only made a proposal through the budget sent in. If the entire budget is approved as it is, it then means that we can work with the figures for each item as stated. But assuming we are only able to get 50, 70 or 90 per cent, it simply means that we have to take a second look at the figures and cut down expectedly.”

RapistThe Nigeria Police on Tuesday raised the alarm over the increasing reported cases of rape and warned ladies against falling prey to the gimmicks of their male companions.
The police said they had uncovered the tactics prospective rapists use to snare their victims.
They added that the criminal act was one of the fastest growing crimes globally, hence the need to educate Nigerians on the menace, with a view to making them stay out of trouble.
Deputy Force Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abayomi Shogunle, wrote on Twitter that young girls and ladies should be wary of the emergency calls they receive from their male friends who feign illnesses.
The police spokesman said experience had shown that potential rapists now feign illness to lure their girlfriends and other female companions to their homes.

SHOCKING: Pastor Cuts Off 2-Year-Old Girl's Fingers

A 49-year-old pastor, Moyo Martins, has been arrested and charged to court for allegedly cutting off the finger of a 2-year-old girl, Saidat Faleye at Yaba area of Lagos.
It was gathered that the mother of the child, Mrs. Bola Faleye, had left her in the care of Martins on Thursday, when she wanted to take her bath and about five minutes later, the girl was heard screaming out loud which drew the attention of the mother and neighbours. When they rushed to the pastor's room, they found the girl's ring and little fingers had been chopped off.
Martins had reportedly sawed off the fingers in his room.
Sadiat was then rushed to a hospital within the area for treatment.
The suspect initially denied knowing anything about the incident but after his arrest, he allegedly confessed that he did it in error and pleaded to be forgiven.
He was arraigned on a one-count charge before a Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Martins however pleaded not guilty to the charge and elected summary trial at the magistrate’s court.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Y.O Aje-Afunwa, admitted him to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till April 24, 2014.

Fulani Herdsmen Attack Benue State Governor Suswam's Entourage

Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam escaped death today when Fulani herdsmen opened fire on his convoy in North-Central Benue state in Nigeria.

Governor Suswam was in the area baring witness to recent raids by Fulani herdsmen.
 At Ukpam, the military accompanying his convoy refused to go further but the Governor insisted they continue.
 At Umenger herdsmen where seen grazing in resident’s farms, as well as burning houses. On sighting the Governor's convoy, they opened fire, with the security responding.
 The shoot out lasted for some minutes but police said when it was obvious the herdsmen had superior fire power, the Governor and his convoy left.
