Supermom berths in Ghana

After a series of successful outings in Nigeria, the Supermom TV reality show will make its debut in Ghana Friday (today).
Regarding his decision to take the show to Ghana, the boss of Digital Interactive Media, Sola Fajobi, says he intends to bridge the gap between Nigeria and the neighbouring country.
“My team and I have always enjoyed a good relationship with Ghana over the years. Ghanaian star, Lydia Forson and a host of other stars have participated in our other reality show, The Next Movie Star. So we have decided to go closer home by opening an office in Ghana because we want to contribute to the growth of entertainment and provide TV content there. This will be a symbiotic relationship as we hope to give as much as possible to Ghana. The supermom reality show Celebrity edition is one of first series of events and content we will be doing in Ghana,” he says. Read more....

Fajobi adds that the show will focus on the mothers of music and movie stars.
“Trust me, this is going to be one show that the viewers will talk about for a very long time. The stage is already set and the crew is ready. We will be telling the stories of celebrities like we have never heard before.
“We shall reveal the pain endured by the mothers of these stars while raising them and the sacrifices they had to make so that the latter could become ‘important’ in life,” he says.
Supermom made its debut in Nigeria in 2010. The first and second editions focused on mothers whose stories were told by their children with much conviction. The first set of winners won new houses and the first runners-up went home new cars, while the second runners-up received cash prizes.
The focused shifted last year when the participants were placed on the spot. From KSB to Julius Agwu, mothers of 13 celebrities gave rare personal accounts of how the famous faces were raised.
Some of the stories moved the audience to tears while others invoked pensive mood laced with mild laughter brought about by knowing assurance that the end justified the means.
Winners usually get houses, cash and cars as prizes. What will the first set of winners get in Ghana? The organisers say, the prizes will be the talk of the town.
