Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed the reigning Serie A champion has put contract talks with Andrea Pirlo on hold until early in 2014.
The Italy international’s current contract with the Bianconeri is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but Juventus is in no rush to extend his existing deal.
“Pirlo’s contract? We have held talks and are calm about it. We have decided to continue negotiations in February or March,” Marotta told Tuttosport
Pirlo joined the Bianconeri on a free transfer after leaving AC Milan in the summer of 2011 and has played a pivotal role in the club winning back-to-back Serie A titles. He has featured in each of the Turin side’s league games so far this season.
