According to her, detectives raided Mabushi, Jahi, Gishiri and other criminal hideouts where about 200 suspects were arrested.
She said those found innocent after investigations were promptly released.
“All the uncompleted buildings in Lento Aluminum, Jabi Upstairs, Lugbe, Garki, Gaduwa and Apo were also raided and during the raids, dangerous weapons such as knives, dane guns, cutlasses, axes, large amounts of Indian hemp were recovered.
“The purpose of the raid was not to harass or extort money from the general public but to make sure that the city is rid of criminal activities. We concentrated on areas criminals hide such as uncompleted buildings, mechanic garages, abandoned houses and isolated places that could harbour criminals. We recently discovered that people also stay inside abandoned vehicles in mechanic workshops to perpetuate heinous crimes,” she stated.
She said henceforth the command would monitor abandoned cars left at mechanic workshops around the city.
The police spokesperson advised residents to monitor uncompleted buildings in their areas and the activities going on there so as to help curb crime.http://posts.fanbox.com/pnc36
